What are the contraindications for DMI and Intensive Therapy Programs?

While Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI) and Intensive Therapy Programs can be highly beneficial for a majority of children, there are certain precautions to consider.

These may include:

1. Recent surgeries or medical procedures: Children who have undergone recent surgeries or medical procedures may need time to recover before participating in DMI or Intensive Therapy Programs.

2. Acute injuries: Children with acute injuries, such as fractures or sprains, may need to wait until they have fully healed before participating in DMI or Intensive Therapy Programs.

3. Uncontrolled seizures: Children with uncontrolled seizures may need specialized supervision and monitoring during therapy sessions to ensure their safety.

4. Severe behavioral issues: Children with severe behavioral issues that may pose a risk to themselves or others during therapy sessions may require alternative approaches or additional support. If you are interested in a Tiny Bee Physical Therapy Intensive but have concerns with appropriateness for the program, please contact Tiny Bee for a free 15 minute consultation to determine if an intensive is right for you.

FAQ PAGE (2).png

Is there a weight limit for DMI?

DMI is a physically demanding technique for the patients and the therapists. To ensure the safety of our practitioners and maintain the quality of care for your child, children must weigh under 45 pounds. If a child exceeds this weight limit, we will conduct a screening via a free consultation before booking the intensive to assess their eligibility. We make every effort to serve children over 45 pounds, but Tiny Bee reserves the right to not provide services on a case-by-case basis in order to ensure the safety of both the patient and the therapist.

Hence, our cancellation policy is outlined below:
